A brilliant week, with a perfect finish! UNI GYŐR ETO vs LEHEL HC 6:2

Machine-translated from Hungarian.

It was certainly a busy second week of the new year for our team; following two EUHL matches (two wins!), on Saturday we also played a Andersen League match took place on Saturday at the Nemak Ice Rink, where we hosted LEHEL HC from Jászberény.

It’s slowly becoming a pattern for our team to score early goals at the start of matches (sometimes scoring them, sometimes conceding them), and that was the case in Saturday’s match too; the spectators hadn’t even had time to settle into their seats before Márk Nagy found the net in the 10th second. The rest of the period didn’t live up to the excitement of the opening minute, and we went into the break with a one-goal lead.

The second period was almost a carbon copy of the start of the first, with Matyi Odnoga finding the net just 14 seconds after the restart. Midway through the period, Márk Nagy scored a magnificent goal, then, with just 3 seconds remaining, he shone once more: following a fantastic solo run, he rounded the goalkeeper and slotted the ball into the Jászberény net (our featured image).

The final period saw a more evenly matched game; the quick goal this time came from a visiting player (Görbe), but the reply came just half a minute later, courtesy of Filipp Nesterov. Four minutes later, Márk Nagy scored his fourth goal of the match, taking him to the top of the league’s scoring charts! The visitors managed to score again through Görbe just before the final whistle, setting the final score at 6–2.

Special mention must be made of the fantastic support from the wonderful audience, who turned out in good numbers despite the late start. Thank you!

The lads have had a brilliant week; our victory has taken us to the top of the table, ahead of DAB-ASP and MAC Ikonok, who have played more matches! Come on, UNI GYŐR ETO!
