Current league tables

The adult ice hockey team of Széchenyi University in Győr, UNI GYŐR ETO HC, will once again be competing on several fronts in the 2024/25 season, and as the regular season draws to a close, here’s how the lads are faring:

The EUHL, the Slovakia-based international university league, offers our players a fantastic opportunity to develop their skills. We’ve had a fantastic start to the season: although we lost our first two matches against last year’s finalists, Trenčín and Banská Bystrica, we won all three of our matches on our tour of Poland to claim victory in the Malopolska Winter Cup, even getting our own back on last year’s runners-up, the Gladiators Trencin!

Although there are still seven matches left in the regular season, we are currently in third place in the table with nine points (having played fewer matches), so we have a very good chance of qualifying for the six-team play-offs.

The Andersen League’s regular season is drawing to a close, with just three matches remaining for the teams. We’ve suffered a few frustrating defeats this season, such as the home matches against Szeges and Jászberény, as well as the away match against Vasas. We are currently third in the table, three points behind second-placed Szeged and six points behind the almost flawless Lehel HC.

The play-offs have already been decided here, and indeed one of the top four places is already secured; the only question now is the exact position. Szeged, Lehel and Vasas are all in excellent form this season, so it’s sure to be a tough battle to defend the title.

Our run in the Hungarian Cup has now come to an end, but we’ve achieved a historic success by reaching the third round and have also been crowned the best second-tier team!

MEFOB’s matches are still to come, and we’re clearly setting out to defend our title in this challenge too!

We’ve had some thrilling matches so far, but the best is yet to come – the lads have to prove themselves in the play-offs of both leagues.

It’s well worth going along to the home matches and cheering the team on together. **

Come on, UNI GYŐR ETO!
